Traveler was tested for FIV and FeLV this afternoon and tested positive for both. The rescue humanely euthanized him and will be burying him on the property. I know it was done for the best and would have made the same decision, but it's still really disheartening news for me. I held onto that tiny little scrap of hope that I had left that he'd be healthy, but another part of me already knew.
RIP Traveler, you were a sweet cat and I'm just glad that you won't have to deal with being sick anymore. You gave me a harsh reminder that I can't save every cat, but I wouldn't change anything if I could go back in time. You needed help and I wasn't going to turn a blind eye.
